Detection principle
Fetal fibronectin (fFN)is a component of the extracellular matrix of the uterine chorionie villus, mainly produced by trophoblast cells, and exists between the chorionic villus and the metaphase as a glycoprotein that acts as a linking and adhesion protein to the chorionic villus and metaphase.
1.Normal pregnant women have very low levels of fFN <50 ng/mL in cervicovaginal secretions at 22-35 weeks of gestation.
2.When the level of fFN is >50 ng/mL, it indicates the possibility of preterm labour.
Features
1.High Specificity, High Sensitivity
2.Specimens: vaginal secretion
3.Shelf life: 24 months
4.Result in 15 minutes
Symptoms
1.UC(uterine contraction) 2.Abnormal vaginal discharge 3.Abdominal pain, bloating
Test procedure
Interpretation ofthe test results
1.Positive: bands appear simultaneously in both the detection area (T)and the quality control area (C), and the detection result is positive.
2.Negative: only one band appears in the quality control area (C), and the test result is negative.
3.Invalid: no band appears in the quality control zone (C), indicating that the test is invalid, and should be retested.
